As Structural BIM Technician, I produced a highly detailed existing structure Revit model derived from 3D laser scan and verified survey data for a heritage commercial building (circa 5,500 m²) on Karangahape Road, Auckland. I delivered the full set of existing-condition drawings including plans, elevations, and details, and coordinated the existing structural model with the proposed seismic strengthening and new works. My work provided the retrofit design team with a reliable digital base model, enabling accurate coordination, reduced site risk, and a successful adaptive reuse of this historic building.

Heritage Redevelopment Existing Conditions Model from 3D Laser Scan

Developed an accurate existing conditions BIM model for the heritage redevelopment of 501 Karangahape Road, Auckland, using high resolution 3D laser scan survey data. The point cloud was processed and translated into a detailed as-built model, capturing the true geometry of the heritage structure to support design coordination, structural assessment, and redevelopment planning. This verified digital record provided a reliable foundation for sensitive heritage interventions and reduced risk during the design and construction stages.

Heritage Redevelopment — Existing Conditions Plan View

Existing conditions plan view extracted from the 3D laser scan derived BIM model, accurately representing the current layout and geometry of the heritage building. This plan was used to integrate with the new design model to support redevelopment planning, coordination, and verification of proposed interventions against the existing structure.
